 A bit pricey but ... July 17, 2010

I bought this because I had some money for my birthday and wanted a 'decent' cover for my iPhone and this one had good reviews from others.
The rubberised inner cover provides shock absorbtion if the phone gets knocked or jarred and the outer hard casing provides enhance protection for harder bumps and knocks. I am very pleased especially as the black colour of the cover makes my phone look inconspicuous.
The reason I gave only 4 stars is due to the screen protector that came with it. Or rather the poor instructions for siting the screen protector. As a first-time user and a less dextrous than I would like to be, I managed to get the protector on but due to having several attempts to site it correctly over the screen I ended up with some small 'bubbles' which are annoying.
I would recommend it even though I think it was a little expensive

Having tried a number of different cases for my 3GS including the bigger Otterbox Defender, this is by far the best combination of protection and ease of use. The silicone rubber bumper around the edges and the back is well supported by the more substantial plastic. It covers all of the edges that would impact the ground if you dropped it. It has been toddler tested and so far they haven't managed to even scratch it!! The screen guard may not be the best in the world but it has certainly stood up to all of the keys and coins in my pocket.
If you are looking for a compromise case that looks good, doesn't add much bulk and protects all the bits that need to be protected then look no further!

The Otterbox commuter oozes quality, it fits perfectly, looks sleek, yet it gives your iphone total protection.
I had previously the Otter box impact, which was a tad chunky and got stuck in the pocket due to it's rubbery nature, it did the job, but it got a bit stretched and flabby round the edges, the commuter however gets round that by having the hard outer shell which keeps everything where it should be, with little chance of dirt and particles getting down the edges to scratch the back.
Another reason to buy the commuter, the plugs for headphone and charger/usb port again keeping delicate connectors free of dust, dirt and debris.
So, 5*
