5 out of 5 stars Sandisk Extreme IV CF card   July 26, 2010
Graham Taylor
Excellent item, at an excellent Amazon price. I am using this with my Canon 40D - my photos are still rubbish, but you can't blame the card for that! It can fit 1000 jpegs or about 200 or so RAW files. 4GB I think is a nice size, smaller would not hold many images, larger could get lost or go faulty with lots of images on. I prefer to carry a few smaller cards than one large one. I can't recommend this card highly enough - so buy a brand you know from a company you trust, not fakes off eBay.

5 out of 5 stars SanDisc EXTREME 111 memory card   July 14, 2010

what can i say,i does what it's supposed to do,and very well,if you intend to take many photos perhaps go for a larger size,
4gb in my D300 set to RAW-FINE-LARGE,gives me around 100 images, much less than i'm used to getting on a SDHC card of similer size.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent quality   June 30, 2010

I've been using Sandisk for over 6 years since some bad experiences with Lexar. Comes with a license for recovery software as part of the package which is an excellent deal as it's not just for cards. I've never used it for any of my own cards but I used this software when recovering data for other people.

I've not had chance to determine how fast this card is as it's being used in a older camera but it's certainly quicker than the older 2Gb Extreme cards I've retired.

To give you an idea of how much I trust this card, I use it for my business and it can store 400 shots on one card with my camera, I do back up in the field but I trust the card sufficiently that it's not a major issue if I forget due to workload.

4 out of 5 stars Compatible with Nikon D100   June 28, 2010

This card works a dream on my old D100 camera and has eneabled me to prolong it's life a while longer. It performs flawlessly in my D100 and D200 alike. Didn't try the faster 8mb card due to the apparent 4mb constraint when using on a D100, but that is the obvious next step for a camera compatible with that card size for storage and performance.

5 out of 5 stars Solid, reliable card   June 27, 2010

I have had two IGB cards for a few years now for my EOS 5D. They have worked faultlessly. However, a cheaper 2 GB I bought failed, leading to the loss of a number of shots which were, of course, irreplaceable. Thus, I have learned the lesson that you get what you pay for and sometimes the cheapest is the most expensive in the long run.

I don't believe in using huge cards, unless it's essential, say in high end video work; as if you lose one you lose a lot of shots. I know that it's cheaper to use a big card but it isn't worth the risk. Better to use several smaller cards I think. These are well fast enough for my camera although you can get quicker ones now. Let's hope my faith in SanDisk is well founded.
