Horrible July 14, 2010 SS Simply does not do what you tell it to do. I tell it to randomly display pictures at 5 second intervalls. It displays some pictures for 3 second, some for 10 seconds and everything in between. It often gets stuck on one picture and there is NO way to fix it, you just have to wait until it figures it out. I hate this photo frame and I won't buy Kodak products anymore. Don't buy it!!
OK for the price May 13, 2010 Raghu Ns (IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my fisrt photo frame. I have not seen any other ones physicaly to compare the performance. I just pointed out few advantages & disadvantages as below :
advantages:
1) u can play both music & photos at the same time.
2) video playing is also supported
3) builtin speaker is loud
4) clarity is acceptable
5) built in memory is sufficient
6) has option connect to printer directly without the need to connect to a PC
7) SD card & usb options make it handy
8) Touch Screen
9) Supports universal voltages, so u can take it to any part of the world
disadvantages:
1) picture clarity is good for nature, animals, scenaries etc. But for portraits/photos taken from my point to shoot camera doesn't look great as it looks in my PC
2) sliding the photos take lot of time & is not accurate
3) No option for battery, means the item is not portable, u cant watch photos while travelling/moving etc..
4) no option for changing the frames, so u will have to stick to the same white frame everytime.
5) no intelligent picture detection, so some of the photos will be cropped to fit the screen, so u miss seeing the faces of persons if they are on the edge of the photo.
Very nice picture... May 3, 2010 C. Baker (Leesville, LA) This frame is a little fancier than what I was looking for originally, but when it appeared on Amazon as a Gold Box Deal, I couldn't pass it up. This is a good-looking frame with an excellent picture quality. It can be set up to display the image in it's original form, or the frame can auto-zoom the photo to fill the screen. Mine is set up for the auto zoom and it's effective on about 98% of the pictures loaded. I would adjust the other 2% slightly if possible, but I can live with the auto settings. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this frame has an auto on/off feature. I have mine on my desk at work and it turns on before I come in, in the morning and shuts off when I leave for the day. I disable the auto on/off on Fridays, so it doesn't run unnecessarily when I'm not in the office. I can't comment on the bundled software as it's not compatible with Macintosh. However, if you're considering the purchase of this frame and you're a Mac user, don't fret. I used a thumb drive to transfer some initial files to the internal memory. There's also a mini-USB connection on the frame that should allow you to connect and synch photos to the internal memory. I simply used a thumb drive to copy some photos to the frames internal memory before my SD card arrived. The frame automatically reduces the original file size in the transfer to conserve valuable internal memory space. Upon receipt of the SD card, I loaded it up with the photos I wanted and the frame instantly recognized it. 100% satisfied with this frame!
Do not Buy April 27, 2010 Mom of 1 Bought this for my mother-in-law thinking Kodak is a recognizable name photography so it must be a good product. Needless to say I was completely wrong. I too got the white screen of death after trying to load more pictures just months later. Since I did not have proof of purchase they could only offer that I send it in for repair and pay them the same as it cost to buy a new one to fix it. I plan to do my research this time when I try to replace what is now a really expensive nightlight.
Unreliable. April 11, 2010 Late Night Gator (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this in December of 2008.
Nice looking frame. Images look good.
In June of 2009. Turn on the screen and it it stuck in a white screen. Contact Kodak and they said to send in for repair under warranty.
March of 2010. Same problem. Now, they want $95 to repair for a frame that nearly cost as much.
They said there is a 30-day warranty beyond a repair.
I have no reliability that this won't happen again if I get this repaired and unfortunately it is unrecoverable. So, I hope I can find a solution on the internet to self-repair, or this will go in the trash.
A shame.
