Round Corners January 17, 2010 K. Ackerman (Cary, NC United States) I normally do not write reveiws, however in this case I have to make an exception.
The owner's manual for this product is completely insufficient. I purchased this product for my wife for Christmas. I chose this product because it was supposed to be directly compatible with the EasyShare camera I purchased her for our anniversary.
My wife, excited that she would be able to show off her pictures removes the memory card from her camera, inserts it into the picture frame as the instructions show, then turns on the frame. What happened? Nada! Turns out the memory card issue is that the camera supports SDHC cards while the picture frame only supports SD cards. I had to figure this out myself because the instructions along with Kodak's website provided absolutely no insight into any problem a user might actually have.
Next she tries to install the software that came with the frame only to recieve some obscure error that prevented completion of the installation. I did some Googling with respect to this problem, apparently this software package has had this same problem for several years. The instructions Kodak gives to resolve this problem are to download their uninstall utility to completely uninstall the package, then to install the "new" version of the software. End result? Nada!
End result? Wife uses lower capacity SD cards in her camera then plugs them into the frame. When pictures need to be managed we use windows explorer and the cardreader on my computer.
I normally do more research before purchasing a product, this is a lesson learned for me.
Good Deal December 30, 2009 A. Crawford My frame was a refurbished item, not used.
It works great, has music, doesn't stretch or bend pictures but looks pixelated when your face is the size of a thumb so crop group pictures a little closer.
Comes with a remote too.
It was my grandma's christmas gift.
Since memory cards are so big we filled it with photography..(art) also instead of driving her nuts with pictures of just our faces.
easy set-up, nice quality. June 27, 2009 Jellydandan (Richmond, VA) I have had this stuff for more than a year, never brings me any trouble. I basically slide the memory card in and turn it on, and it starts to show photos. Very smart product. The only down side is that the black frame is a bit too much.
Kodak SV-710 hasn't the best resolution... May 31, 2009 B. W. Moseley (Houston, TX United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Save your money and buy a Digital Picture Frame with more resolution. Its worth the extra investment. This Kodak is ok for the money, but better resolution is the way to go..
Poor Quality and the Worst Customer Service! March 8, 2009 Pippin24 (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Maybe it just happened to me. But this frame broke down in 3 months, and the whole screen just went black and no pictures. So I contacted Kodak for customer service, but was told that since I bought it from Amazon, Kodak is not responsible for the product any more. So I argued that it IS a Kodak product, and still within the period for the 1 year warranty, Kodak should be responsible for it. So the Rep told me that she would transfer me to technical support. But guess what? She transferred me to an automatic system for self service, and I got nobody to talk to about the product. This is definitely the worst customer service I have ever had, and no to mention that I still could not believe a Kodak product would break down so fast. Overall, I would not give any stars for this product, for the frame didn't even function right, and more importantly, the customer service really killed my desire to buy any Kodak products.
